Shocking moment Amen Thompson slams Tyler Herro to the floor in Heat-Rockets game before melee breaks out

A simple confrontation between Amen Thompson and Tyler Herro quickly escalated into an all-out battle between the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets on Sunday night, when a total of six people were ejected from the game.

It all started with less than a minute to play, with Miami leading Houston by five points and about to inbound the ball.

Herro was lined up as the first option to receive the ball, with Thompson keeping a close eye on him.

Thompson hooked Herro’s arm in a manner that would have been classified as a foul before the start of the game, with the Heat star not taking kindly to the physical contact.

Herro and Thompson grab each other’s jerseys and just as security, fellow players and coaches are about to separate the two, Thompson slams Herro into the hardwood floor.

A mass confrontation broke out with the squads quickly separated, but not before Thompson and Herro exchanged words while being restrained.

Herro, Thompson, two Rockets coaches, including head coach Ime Udoka, Jalen Green and Terry Rozier, were all ejected from the game.

Thompson, and possibly Herro, will face additional disciplinary action for the incident.

Every mass confrontation automatically receives a look from the competition management for possible discipline.

Both teams are also likely to receive a hefty fine if their players leave the bench area without taking part in the match.

After the game, Herro commented on the situation, with the Heat winning the game 104-100 against the Rockets.

“I think that’s what happens when someone scores, throws dimes, does everything. I would get angry too,” Herro said.

The teams meet again this season with a game in Miami on March 21.
