Once the person in the vehicle was removed, CPR was administered.

The crash appeared to be unintentional, authorities said, but homicide units are on the scene investigating the cause of the accident.

Video of the incident showed several waiting room chairs in the ER were destroyed before the car was secured in a hallway near a reception desk.

The emergency room was mostly clear of people when the crash occurred, although staff were seen trying to get one person out of the wreckage.

You can hear car tires screeching and the taillights visible as the room fills with white smoke, while the car’s accelerator appears to still be depressed.

At least eight patients in the hospital’s emergency department are being transferred elsewhere to ease the workload of staff.

The Emergency Room can handle walk-ins, but is closed to ambulances until further notice.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted a statement to X on Tuesday evening about the tragedy.
