Murder-accused teenager Carly Gregg cut her hair and bangs the week before she allegedly shot her mother dead in their home.
This drastic change raised concerns from her mother, Ashley, who asked Gregg, then 14, to “promise that you won’t try to be a boy.”
Photos show Gregg with long, blonde hair before she decided to chop it all off on March 13, seven days before she was accused of murdering her mother and attempting to murder her stepfather in their Mississippi home.
On the fourth day of her murder trial, the court heard from Rebecca Kirk, the lawyer Gregg worked with in the weeks leading up to the alleged crime.
Kirk met Gregg on the day of the makeover. She told the court that Gregg had “literally just gotten her hair cut for the session.”

Gregg is said to have maintained that she had no intention of becoming a boy
Kirk made it very clear that she believed her client, Gregg, loved her mother (pictured together)
“Her mother said when she cut her hair, ‘Promise me you’re not trying to be a boy,'” Kirk told the court.
Gregg is said to have laughed off the suggestion, insisting that she had no intention of being a boy at all.
Kirk admitted that she “never thought [Gregg] had an identity crisis.’
This was a series of questions that Kirk explored multiple times during their nine sessions over the course of nine weeks. Gregg never expressed any concerns about her gender identity or sexuality, Kirk said.
At one point she said her friends had said the new haircut “made her look even gay.”
When Kirk tried to find out if Gregg was upset by this, she said that Gregg “laughed it off” and never seemed bothered by her friends’ teasing.
This week, shocking footage was shown in a Mississippi courtroom of Carly Gregg casually walking through her kitchen.

During the nine weeks of sessions, Gregg’s appearance changed. Kirk noted that she began wearing only black clothing.
But she did not notice any alarming behaviors or feelings that prosecutors allege indicated something happened on March 19.
During the sessions with Gregg, Kirk never doubted how much she loved her mother.
Police allege Gregg shot her mother three times and then texted her stepfather from her mother’s phone in an attempt to lure him home
“I got the impression she had complex feelings for her mother, but I believe she loved her,” she said.
Police allege Gregg shot her mother three times and then texted her stepfather from her mother’s phone in an attempt to lure him home.
She allegedly shot her stepfather in the shoulder before he could snatch the gun from her, after which she fled.
The court also saw bodycam footage of the arresting officers handcuffing the trembling teen while they were examined for gunshot residue.
She was asked, “Which hand did you shoot with?” She replied, “I don’t remember.”
She asked the officers, “Is my stepfather okay?” to which they said they “couldn’t talk about that.”
