Shocking footage shows racial attack on Circle K gas station customer

Shocking mobile phone videos show a petrol station employee shouting racist insults at a regular customer, and the customer is now trying to take legal action.

John Wong said he was shopping at a Circle K in Houston on September 5 to get food for his pregnant girlfriend when he was verbally assaulted by a clerk.

Wong said he was completely shocked, adding that in the 10 years he has been shopping at that Circle K, he has never experienced racism.

In the video Wong recorded, the worker can be heard saying, “Hey, hello, Chinese, Asian mother******. Play it in your country, not in America. Get the hell out of here.”

Wong said the worker refused to sell him food and instead continued to attack, FOX 26 Houston reported.

“This is a complete shock to me. I have no idea why this person started reprimanding me and saying what he said,” Wong said.

At a press conference outside the gas station where Wong was confronted, civil rights attorney Randall Kallinen expressed outrage over this instance of racism.

“Circle K needs to come together and put together a program on racial sensitivity,” Kallinen said.

Wong said he is working on a lawsuit unless Circle K responds appropriately.

Circle K said in a statement that it immediately fired the employee who harassed Wong after the company learned what had happened.

Circle K said it continues to investigate the incident and wants to speak with Wong and his attorneys

Circle K said it continues to investigate the incident and wants to speak with Wong and his attorneys “to fully understand this experience from their perspective.”

“When we became aware of a confrontation between an employee and two customers at a Houston location two weeks ago, we made the decision to immediately terminate this employee for violating company policy,” the statement said.

It continued: ‘We were provided with a short 45-second smartphone video clip of this encounter, recorded by the customer, which includes audio of the exchange. While the video does not capture the entire incident, what it shows clearly goes against our values and code of conduct.’

Circle K says it is still investigating the incident and wants to speak with Wong and his attorneys “to fully understand this experience from their perspective.”
