A contestant from Naked and Afraid: Castaways got more than he bargained for on Sunday night’s episode when his penis was infested with ticks.
In the latest episode of the Discovery programme, in which naked cast members are tasked with surviving on a remote island, Andrew Shayde awoke to find his manhood overrun by the blood-sucking parasite.
Andrew, 42, counted the number of ticks on his genitals as he recounted the “horrible full-blown attack” to the cameras in scenes aired over the weekend.
“I woke up this morning with five taps on my little castaway,” he said, pointing to his underworld.

“Knowing my history with check marks in my previous challenges… this is driving me absolutely crazy.”
Of course, Andrew has had plenty of ticks feasting on his body, having recently discovered several nests in his behind.
“I have an ass tick,” he announced in a previous episode. “Just because it’s somewhere we can’t really get to, the medical team will take it out so it doesn’t lead to infection.”
He was then seen writhing in pain as a member of the medical team checked on him and carefully removed them.
Viewers were surprised by the latest unfortunate scenario, with one fan taking to Twitter saying, “Well, at least they can laugh about it.”
“I would be scared too,” said another while a third was concerned: “That must be one of the most horrible critters and they are also dangerous to health. Did you take them all out completely?’
According to Mayo Clinic, most tick bites are painless and cause only minor signs and symptoms, such as a change in skin color, swelling, or a sore on the skin.
If you have been bitten, it is recommended that you remove the tick immediately and carefully using tweezers or fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible.

Unfortunately: Andrew hasn’t had much luck with ticks, with a medical expert having to remove some of his bum in a recent episode

They say that the tick should be removed gently with a slow and steady upward motion.
One should not twist or squeeze the tick and do not touch the parasite with bare hands.
A picture of the tick can help your healthcare provider determine what type it is and whether you are at risk for a transmitted disease, Mayo Clinic adds.
Fortunately, fellow Naked and Afraid contestant Patrick French has had much better luck when it comes to tick bites.
“I just have them between my legs,” he announced to the group, checking his body. “Fortunately, they haven’t taken prime real estate.”
This season of Naked and Afraid: Castaways follows nine contestants who try to survive without tools for three weeks on a remote Pacific island.
Naked and Afraid Castaways airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on the Discovery Channel.
