Shock Sunrise shake-up as Sam Mac is replaced as weather presenter by Jimmy Rees: ‘I’ve finally made it!’
Jimmy Rees will take over from Sam Mac as weather presenter on Sunrise next week.
The comedian, 35, will be taking over the coveted gig for just one week as he fills in for the new dad who is taking a week off.
Jimmy announced the news live on Sunrise on Thursday, joking that he’s “finally made it” and that it’s “breaking news.”
“I think I finally made it. Breaking news, I’m going to be the sunrise weatherman for the whole of next week. I have no idea what you have in store for me,” he told Sunrise host Natalie Barr.
Jimmy said he’s going to visit a few places in Victoria from where he’ll do some live motocross.

“No, I’m going to an elementary school, thermal springs and there are other things to be discussed that hopefully I can actually do,” he said.
Host Natalie Barr revealed that he will be taking defensive driving training sometime next week, before reading it again.
‘How hard can it be? I have something I want to say, I think the weather is holding him back,” he joked about Sam Mac.
