It comes after Shirley posed for a slew of gorgeous before-and-after photos and said, “This is the best I’ve seen in years” earlier this week.

Since February last year, the former dancer has been visiting one of the UK’s top cosmetic doctors, Dr. Judy Todd, in a bid to rejuvenate her appearance without going under the knife.

Shirley said: ‘This time last year I was aware that my jaw was drooping and hanging a bit, my skin looked dull and a bit lifeless and I wanted to get rid of all my spider veins and tighten the skin on my neck and chest.’ .

“I wanted to look my best, but I really didn’t want to go under the knife, so I thought I’d try this alternate route.”

Shirley modeled a stylish selection of outfits for the shoot and went makeup-free to show off her new smooth skin and radiant complexion.

The procedure included regular treatments with NeoGen Plasma, which uses pulses of nitrogen plasma that deliver controlled high temperatures deep into skin tissues to vastly increase collagen and elastin production.

The NeoGen treatment took around 30 minutes and was performed on the entire face, including around the delicate eye area, specifically targeting the jawline, as well as the chest and hands.

Shirley went on to talk about the amazing results after admitting she wasn’t sure what to expect.

She said: ‘My jawline feels so much sharper. I feel that the skin is not sagging, it feels rejuvenated, it feels bright and clean, no small veins, no sun spots, overall a really spectacular appearance.

Lover of Life: 'I feel like my skin is glowing, it's healthy, it looks great, I have a much better jawline, so I'm very, very excited for people to recognize the results'

“I was a bit apprehensive at first, but I’m very excited with the results.”

“Every 60-year-old woman wants to feel confident, and I have to say that at 62, I now feel much better than ever.”

Shirley was also prescribed Obagi topical skin care to use every day, and took G Herbal natural supplements to help speed up skin repair and increase nutrient levels in the skin.

In total over the ten months, Shirley’s treatments and topical skincare products cost around £5,000.

Dr. Judy Todd runs clinics at the Cadogan Clinic in London and the Synergy Clinic in Glasgow.

An expert opinion: expensive but effective

The treatment that Shirley Ballas had with Glasgow consultant anesthetist and cosmetologist, Dr. Judy Todd, is a relatively new procedure.

NeoGen Plasma launched in the US in 2013 and arrived in the UK in 2017. Dr Todd, who has been using it for a year, is one of several practitioners across the UK now offering it.

You can take it as a single, high-intensity treatment, which lasts an hour and costs about £3,000, but you’d need about ten days of indoor downtime while your face heals.

Dispense the treat, just like Shirley did, and there’s no downtime. Patients are often given Skin Repair Growth Factor Anti-Age Serum to aid healing.

Low-intensity sessions are around £750 each, and if you also have your chest and hands treated, each will add another £250.

You will see that the irregular pigmentation of Shirley’s skin has also disappeared. This was achieved using a prescription skincare regimen called Obagi Nu-Derm, which costs around £500 for a six-week programme.
