Shepparton, Victoria: Grisly scenes as woman sets another on fire

Two women have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after one allegedly set the other on fire.

Police were called to the scene at Middlesex Crescent in Shepparton, north of Melbourne, at around 6.30pm on Monday to reports that a 20-year-old woman had been set on fire.

Police assume that a 33-year-old woman who was found at the scene and was known to the victim had caused the fire.

A spokesperson for Ambulance Victoria told Daily Mail Australia they had airlifted both women to Alfred Hospital, south of Melbourne’s CBD.

The 20-year-old is in critical condition after suffering injuries to her upper body.

The elderly woman was taken into police custody in a serious condition and had also suffered injuries to her upper body.

She is assisting the police in investigating the incident.
