Shelly Beach: Scuba diver pulled from the water after getting into trouble at snorkelling hotspot near Manly

A diver has been pulled from the water after getting into trouble at a popular snorkeling hotspot near Manly.

The woman in her 30s was rescued at Shelly Beach, on Sydney’s northern beaches, before being rushed to hospital on Wednesday morning.

NSW Ambulance confirmed they were called to the site just before 10.30am to report to the diver in distress after she reported she was in urgent need of assistance.

A spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the woman was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition.

Video footage published by The Daily Telegraph shows multiple NSW ambulance paramedics carrying her on a stretcher.

The incident comes after a newlywed couple drowned on the same beach during their honeymoon last month.

A teenage boy checked on the woman, believed to be from South Korea, after she was seen face down and motionless.

When she didn’t respond, she was pulled from the water while locals tried to revive her on the beach.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and tried to treat her, but she could not be saved.

Shortly afterwards, beachgoers said they were traumatized by the tragedy.

‘I couldn’t sleep last night. Seeing her like this kept flashing through my mind. I’ve never seen a dead person. It was horrible,” said one mother.

“Her poor husband, as we were leaving we just heard a man screaming and crying and wailing and we realized that had to be her husband.”
