Shelley Duvall’s longtime partner Dan Gilroy files legal docs over her estate in Texas court after her death at 75
Dan Gilroy, the longtime partner of the late actress Shelley Duvall, has filed papers in a Texas court regarding her estate, less than two weeks after her death on July 11 at the age of 75.
Gilroy, 77, filed for a board position on July 18. In contact they reported on Tuesday after studying the court documents.
Gilroy, who was in a relationship with the star of The Shining for 35 years, listed the actress’s full name, Shelley Alexis Duvall, in the documents he filed for the estate, the site said.
According to the site, the case was classified as ‘dependent administration’. The term ‘dependent administration’ usually means that the deceased did this without a will being drawn up.
Duvall had no children, but is survived by three brothers: Scott, Stewart and Shane, the outlet reported.

Gilroy said The Hollywood Reporter In a statement, “My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend has left us. Suffered too much lately, now she is free. Fly away beautiful Shelley.”
Gilroy and Duvall’s relationship began when they worked together on the film Mother Goose Rock ‘n’ Rhyme, according to People.
The couple had lived together in the Lone Star State for more than a decade before she passed away earlier this month.
Gilroy has a background in music, having been in the band Breakfast Club, which became best known for their 1987 single Right on Track.
Madonna was previously a member of the band, but left to form her own band, called Emmy and the Emmys. She achieved superstar status in the mid-1980s with her solo career, People reported. According to them, Gilroy and Madonna dated for a short time.
Duvall said she met Gilroy while working on Mother Goose Rock ‘n’ Rhyme, a Disney Channel movie in which she played Little Bo Peep.
She described Gilroy as “the most fantastic artist” in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Gilroy and Duvall moved in together in Studio City, California, in the early 1990s with a collection of pets including 36 birds, eight dogs, two cats and two goldfish, People reports.
They moved to Texas in 1994 due to a number of factors, including her brother’s health problems, her fatigue in Los Angeles, and the damage to their home after the Northridge earthquake on January 17, 1994.

Gilroy spoke candidly with the newspaper about Duvall’s mental health struggles over the past decades.

Gilroy told the newspaper that he was surprised by her controversial appearance on Dr. Phil in 2016. He said he heard about it through “people around town.”
He said of the interview: ‘It didn’t do anything for her. It just put her on the map as a rarity.’
