At least someone is optimistic! Shelley Craft expects ‘insane bidding’ on The Block auctions… after Scott Cam said he feared the houses wouldn’t sell
Shelley Craft expects ‘frantic bidding’ for The Block’s new homes when they go up for auction this Sunday.
The 46-year-old presenter, who co-hosts the Channel Nine ratings winner with Scott Cam, says she’s confident the homes will hit their $4 million to $4.4 million price guides.
Craft described the five properties in Gisbourne, Victoria, as ‘prestigious’.

She said the 10-acre properties are “manageable” and would make an ideal weekender or family home.
She added that Gisborne’s location in the Macedonian mountain ranges makes an easy and attractive commute to Melbourne, which is just an hour away.
“It’s a great opportunity for five lucky people to make a bit of a lifestyle change,” she told Now to love.
Craft’s optimism stands in stark contrast to Scott Cam’s fears that the Blockheads may be disappointed on Sunday.

When he appeared on Nine’s Today’s breakfast show on Friday, Cam admitted he was “nervous.” The renovated properties of the participants will not be unloaded.
Cam, 59, said rising interest rates and falling home prices meant the Blockheads face challenges this year that previous participants did not.
‘There is a bit of trepidation from the buying public. I’m very nervous,” he told Today.

He added that the hard work of the contestants deserved to be rewarded and he would be stripped if they lost.
Despite promises of big sales, some real estate experts have expressed concern that the properties will not sell within their $4 million to $4.4 million price guides.
This is because the average house price in the Gisborne area is about $1.1 million.
However, sources at Nine are confident that the houses will destroy their reserves due to their ultra-stylish designs, great location and resale potential.
Craft said Gisborne’s location in the Macedonia ranges makes a convenient and attractive commute to Melbourne, which is just an hour away.
