  • Sheffield United are looking to upgrade Wes Foderingham in net
  • Ivo Grbic attended for a medical on Monday ahead of a £2million transfer
  • Let alone the PGMOL, Nottingham Forest should write a letter to players in THAT wall and tell them ‘You are fools’ – It all starts

Sheffield United are closing in on a £2million takeover of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Ivo Grbic.

Grbic came by on Tuesday for a medical diagnosis.

The 6ft tall goalkeeper has not played for Atletico this season and was allowed to leave the Wanda Metropolitano before his contract expired this summer.

He never displaced Jan Oblak in the Spanish capital, but did gain experience in the Ligue 1 and Champions League when loaned to Lille in 2020/2021.

The 28-year-old Grbic started his career in his native Croatia before moving to Spain in 2020.

If the deal is formalized, Grbic will become the second new signing at Bramall Lane in this transfer window after they secured the loan signing of Ben Brereton-Diaz from Villarreal.

Fes Foderingham has played in all of the Blades’ Premier League games this season.

Chris Wilder’s side have conceded the most goals in the division (51) and Grbic could act as an upgrade or provide much-needed competition.

Grbic was capped twice by Croatia and was part of the side that finished third at the 2022 World Cup.

Sheffield United have been linked with the likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Ward in their search for a new shot-stopper.
