Sheffield United have inquired about signing Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward as boss Chris Wilder looks to add competition between the sticks.
Ward has fallen far out of favor under Foxes boss Enzo Maresca in the Championship this season, with both Mads Hermansen and Jakub Stolarczyk ahead of him in the pecking order.
Ward will be hoping for regular football this season in case Wales manage to qualify for Euro 2024 – and he could have a chance to compete with current Blades number 1 Wes Foderingham.
The Blades previously tried to prize away Anderlecht keeper Kasper Schmeichel, 37, as he looked for a return to the Premier League.
The goalkeeper left England to join Nice in August 2022 after failing to reach a deal to extend his £120,000-a-week contract with Leicester City.

The Blades have also held talks about signing Anderlecht keeper Kasper Schmeichel
It would mark the end of his 11-year stay at the football club, with Schmeichel playing just one season at Nice before joining Anderlecht in September 2023.
His contract with Anderlecht expires this summer, with the goalkeeper keeping two clean sheets in thirteen games for Anderlecht.
Sheffield United have already made a major signing this month by loaning Ben Brereton-Diaz from Villarreal.
The former Blackburn star only joined LaLiga in the summer before struggling to find playing time.
The Blades have already announced the signing of Ben Brereton-Diaz on loan from Villarreal
Blades boss Chris Wilder, who has signed his first contract since returning for his second spell in charge last month, told the club's official website: 'He is fast, powerful and of course his recent goalscoring record at Blackburn speaks for itself .
'He has also gained a lot of international experience in recent years as a representative of Chile.
'For me the fact that he really wanted to come here and play in the Premier League was a big factor.
'I didn't need to say much about Sheffield United because he already knows everything about us, he did his homework and liked what he had heard and what we had to say to him.'
