Boxing support departments have criticized Anthony Joshua for behaving ‘very strangely’ in his recent interview with Louis Theroux, where the heavyweight contender covered a variety of topics.
The former world heavyweight champion was in charge of a possible mega-fight with Tyson Fury and also explained the reasons why he doesn’t have a girlfriend.
Joshua sat down with quirky interviewer, Theroux, for an in-depth analysis of his career, but some viewers were less than impressed with the way the British boxer weaved his way through questions.
The 34-year-old leads a largely private personal life and has been seen less often in the public eye in England since deciding to move to America to work under a new manager.
Joshua answered the questions put to him with a refreshing honesty for sporting superstars, but some viewers believe he lacked credibility when in front of the camera.

Opinions among the British boxing fanbase have always been divided on Joshua’s attributes and personality, with some preferring Fury’s brutal approach to the quieter and more thoughtful AJ.
Social media have weighed in on Joshua’s latest television appearance by giving their verdict on how the two-time world heavyweight champion performed.
In an online post, Joshua was branded ‘weird’ for the way he answered questions, saying: ‘Watching Anthony Joshua being interviewed by @louistheroux Weird. The man never feels comfortable in front of the camera and acts very strangely when questioned. Stick to boxing, my man.”
Another similarly critical post read: ‘Hmm @louistheroux, an interview with @anthonyjoshua is a bit weird.’
One disgruntled viewer explained that they were usually fans of Theroux’s shows, but labeled the Joshua series a “snoozefest,” adding, “Usually love Louis Theroux stuff, but this is a snoozefest.” Sorry.’
Other comments criticized Joshua’s attitude with another Tweet saying: ‘Anthony Joshua could find a way to argue in an empty room. The guy has a chip on his shoulder the size of his ego.”
A final comment undermined the boxer’s approach, adding: ‘Anthony Joshua predictably comes across as an unbearable, self-obsessed nausea in this Louie Theroux documentary.’

Joshua had hoped to regain his heavyweight titles in a rematch against Usyk last August, following his defeat to the Ukrainian in 2021.
The British fighter lost by split decision as Usyk retained the titles in Saudi Arabia.
In the aftermath of the defeat, Joshua threw two of Usyk’s belts out of the ring and onto the floor and walked to his dressing room before storming back to shake Usyk’s hand.
He then grabbed the microphone and launched into an expletive-filled tirade, discussing the fight, his career and the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, with Usyk also cheering.
