Shawn Mendes shows off buff body shirtless on the beach in Miami… before getting MOBBED by fans in Rio de Janeiro

Shawn Mendes showed off his toned body earlier this week while enjoying the sand and sea in Miami.

The 26-year-old singer-songwriter showed off his washboard abs as he took a shirtless dip in dark swim trunks.

The Canadian hitmaker kept his cool on the sunny day before flying to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

Shawn has been on a break from touring since 2022, when he cut his Wonder World tour short to focus on his mental health. But Shawn is set to step back into the spotlight when he performs at the Rock in Rio festival on Sunday, September 22.

However, fans in Rio couldn’t get enough of the reclusive pop singer and Shawn was surrounded by a crowd of over-excited Brazilian fans wanting to see him or have their picture taken with him while he was on Ipanema beach on Thursday.

Shawn’s outing earlier this week in Miami was a lot more relaxing.

The photo shows him stepping out of the cool, green water and running across the bright white sand.

His dark hair was wet and combed back in a shaggy, messy style. He had a casual, short-cropped beard and showed her many tattoos.

The In My Blood singer was dressed a little extra festively when he was photographed in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday.

He wore a simple white tank top and dark shorts, and black-framed sunglasses with amber lenses.

Shawn was photographed walking barefoot down the road as he left the beach at the end of his outing, but as he tried to leave, adoring fans and curious people gathered around him.

It appeared he had security guards keeping the crowd at bay, but he was still surrounded by countless fans holding their phones high above their heads in hopes of getting a blurry photo of the singer.

They’ll get another chance to see him on Sunday, when he headlines the final day of Rock in Rio.

The festival confirms Shawn’s return to touring following his Wonder World tour in July 2022.

He announced the abrupt end of the tour in a post he shared on Instagram at the time.

“As you know, I have had to postpone shows over the past few weeks as I was not fully prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take,” he wrote.

‘I went into this tour expecting to finally be able to perform live again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic. But the reality is that I was not at all prepared for how difficult touring would be after this period of absence.

“After talking more with my team and working with an amazing group of healthcare professionals, it has become clearer to me that I need to take the time that I never took personally to ground myself and come back stronger.”

He continued: “I unfortunately have to cancel the remainder of the tour dates in North America and the UK/Europe. We were hoping I would be able to pick up the rest of the dates after some much needed time off, but at this time I have to put my health first.”

Before Shawn said goodbye, he made it clear that he would still be working on new music before he would go back on stage, and he also said that he felt sorry for his loyal fans who had already bought tickets to his concerts.

“I know you’ve all waited so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this, but I promise I will be back once I’ve taken the proper time to heal,” he added. “I love you all and thank you all so much for your support and encouragement on this journey.”

Shawn said he was heartbroken for fans who had already purchased tickets – who had been refunded – but he said health professionals had urged him to cancel the remainder of the tour.

Shawn is returning to the US after a break of almost a month.

He returns with a show in Nashville at the iconic Ryman Auditorium, before hitting the coast with shows in Brooklyn on October 18, Los Angeles on October 22 and Seattle on October 24.

Concerts are also planned for March next year in India and South America.

Compared to the hectic pace of his previous tours, Shawn appears to be keeping to a more leisurely schedule with longer breaks between shows.
