A survey of Britons reveals that the most common strategy is to drink a lot of ice-cold drinks – practiced by almost three in four (73 percent) people.

One in ten people say they shave off their body hair to keep cool, while three percent admit to walking around the house with wet socks.

Freezing the sheets before going to bed (four percent), sitting with your feet in a bowl of ice water (nine percent), taking a bottle of frozen water to bed (17 percent), and even working from a paddling pool (three percent) are other strategies used by Britons to cool down.
