Shaughna Phillips has revealed she would never want her daughter to watch repeats of her Love Island appearance, as she confirmed she is no longer in a relationship and is embracing life as a single mother.
The reality TV star featured in the show’s first winter series, which takes place in Cape Town just weeks before the global pandemic forced everyone behind closed doors in 2020.
Shaughna admitted alongside good friend Holly Connolly on their new podcast ‘Oh Baby!’ that she was not keen on daughter Lucia – her only child – seeing her escapades when she grew older.
She said: ‘I love Love Island but if I can get away with Lucia not knowing what Love Island is then I’ve won.
‘The thought of Lucia watching my Love Island season when she’s older – I’m going to need a lot of therapy!

‘And I would do my very best to make sure she doesn’t even know what Love Island is.’
The influencer, who appeared on season six of the ITV 2 reality TV dating show, revealed she doesn’t recognize the ‘good girl’ she once seemed to be.
‘If I were to watch that season again, it would be like watching it as a viewer. “I would say, I don’t know these people,” the podcaster said.
“We’ve all grown up, we’re all just different people now.”
In a candid and honest conversation between the two mothers – who gave birth just days apart – Shaughna shared that she wears the title of single mother as “a badge of honor.”
Lucia’s father, Billy, was charged on January 21 with one count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug and one count of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
“I don’t feel any guilt about being a single mother, it’s just the card I was dealt,” the lifestyle influencer reflected.
“I just hope that one day Lucia doesn’t write a diss track about me!”
As long as all baby bottles are sterilized, the former Love Islander felt like ‘Mum of the Year’.
Shaughna bravely revealed: ‘I feel like I’m comfortable with feeling like I’m not good enough – I feel like I’ve had that feeling my whole life.’

Helping Hand: Lucia’s grandparents are often on hand to help Shaughna raise her bundle of joy
However, the reality TV star doesn’t tackle parenthood alone, with Lucia’s grandparents often lending a helping hand.
On a lighter note, the founder of fertility charity Cloud Nine also jokingly expressed her frustrations over her daughter’s first words.
‘All I get is Dada, dada and I think, “Wow, a son wouldn’t do me that dirty!” It’s just rude,” the Love Islander joked.
“I look at her and say ‘mom’ and she says ‘not today, probably not next month, maybe never.’ For fun, she’ll probably say Nana first.’
Oh baby! Holly and Shaughna’s parenting experience couldn’t be further apart, with the reality TV star going it alone while the MUA raises her child with partner Jody.
Either way, they say everyone is welcome to tune in to their no-holds-barred podcast about all things motherhood — from breastfeeding to their biggest mom fears and postpartum sex.
Holly said: “Shaughna and I are so excited to take people on our rollercoaster journey as new mums.
‘We have so much in common, but couldn’t be more different when it comes to parenting.’
The first and second episodes of Oh Baby with Shaughna and Holly are available on all streaming platforms.
