Shaughna Phillips goes makeup free in sweet snap with baby Lucia

Shaughna Phillips went makeup-free in her latest Instagram snap as she explained that she “doesn’t care” how she looks anymore.

The 28-year-old Love Island alum announced last week that she had welcomed a baby girl, Lucia, 04/04/23 at 8:10 pm, weighing in at 8lb 8oz.

She looked effortlessly stylish in a brown dress and black leather jacket, while accessorizing with sunglasses.

Shaughna shared the post to her Instagram Stories, writing, “Insta is so much easier when you stop caring what you look like”

She added: “Happy birthday to me and happy 1 week old to my dream girl Lucia, the only gift Mom could ever wish for.

“Lucia also officially became a person today! Life is so much more now, I’m obsessed’

Shaughna announced last week that she had welcomed her daughter, writing on Instagram, “My dearest Lucia, I wish I had you sooner so I could love you longer.”

The star is estranged from Lucia’s father Billy Webb, who was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and was concerned about the supply of controlled drugs in January, so she has asked her mother for help.

In her latest Instagram post, she shared a touching photo of Lucia resting on her shoulder and wrote alongside it, “Can’t wait to talk to you about my birth story…

“I had a wild ride lol. But honestly, it doesn’t matter how she got here, what matters is that she’s here safe and sound…

‘I’ve certainly struggled not being able to do much for Lucia myself due to my recovery, but the support I’ve had from family is more than I could ever ask for! My mother often spends the nights burping the baby and comforting me.”

Alongside the post featuring Lucia, she then shared a photo of a box full of needles and a biohazard bin and wrote, “The joys of C-section.”

Many, but not all, women are prescribed daily blood-thinning injections — often called Clexane injections — for a few days or weeks after a cesarean delivery. The injections are not painkillers but they reduce the risk of blood clots.

Ahead of Lucia’s arrival, Shaughna took to Instagram to reveal that she would have to be induced after she passed her due date of March 25.

Shaughna later shared that she was booked to be induced on April 2, as she shared her pregnancy health concerns — but the baby was actually born two days later.

Her best friend Paige Turley, who she met on Love Island, shared a photo of newborn Lucia to her Instagram Stories alongside a gushing post.

She wrote, “The most PERFECT little baby. HUUUUGE congratulations on baby moma @shaughnaphillips. Welcome to the world LPW…you are so loved!’

And a host of stars quickly jumped into the comments of Shaughna’s post to offer their congratulations.

Ms Hinch wrote, ‘Aww congratulations beauty ❤️❤️ Lots of love your way xx.’ Nicola McLean wrote, “Absolutely beautiful.” Vicky Pattison wrote, “Congratulations beautiful girl.”

Comedian Katherine Ryan wrote: ‘Yay she’s here! Congratulations.’

Shaughna shared a selfie of herself on March 29 looking anxiously at her Instagram Stories and had written, “Induction booked for Sunday. My March babe clearly wants to be an April babe just like her mama.”

She also described her health issues when she joked that her followers would call her an “ambulance” if she didn’t put a filter on the snap.

“If I didn’t have a filter on my face, one of my followers would definitely call an ambulance for me,” she added.

Shaughna was hospitalized earlier in March, just ten days before her due date.

The reality star previously confirmed that she would be raising her firstborn as a single parent following her ex-boyfriend Billy Webb’s drug bust.

29-year-old Billy, the baby’s father, could face up to 16 years in prison if found guilty after police arrested the broker in January during a drug raid.

She opened up about giving birth alone, in an interview with OK! Magazine just weeks before she welcomed her first child.

She said: ‘Of course, after a challenging few weeks, the baby’s father isn’t here.

“But my main focus has always been to prepare for labor and try to be as calm as possible. I’m good at just saying, “Okay, the show has to go on.”

She added: “Billy’s not here but I wouldn’t say I’m going it alone because I’m definitely not – my family is incredible. It will be different, but I don’t want to say it’s going badly.’

The Sun reported that police reportedly recovered cocaine and MDMA before a follow-up search at a nearby address revealed a larger quantity of illegal substances.

Billy was subsequently charged with one count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug and one count of being involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

Shaughna – who previously kept her boyfriend off social media to protect his privacy – stated she had “absolutely no knowledge of any activity related to the allegations against Billy.”

Her representative said: “Despite a long-standing relationship with the defendant, Shaughna has no connection to the address in question and will openly assist police in their investigation.

“We kindly ask the public to please consider the imminent birth of Shaughna’s baby and allow her some privacy at this difficult and stressful time.”

A statement from the Met Police told MailOnline: ‘Billy Webb, 29, was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and involvement in the supply of controlled drugs on January 21.’

Shaughna did not know the gender before birth before Billy’s arrest, she had said she wants to name her unborn baby after her boyfriend if it is a boy.

The Love Islander said, “My dad’s name will be the baby’s middle name. There are a few reasons why I don’t name my baby after my dad.

‘My dad’s real name is Edward, but everyone called him Eddie and I just don’t know how much I’d like it if I said my dad’s name every day.

“I still struggle with the fact that my dad isn’t here, so I think it would be too much for me. Baby will be Billy Edward when he’s a boy.”

She added, “We’re keeping the girl’s name a secret, but it’s not a sentimental name, it’s just a name we both love.”

Shaughna previously discussed Billy’s desire for privacy, saying, “I used to say [to my dates]”I want to keep my relationship private, if that’s okay with you?”

And if they said, “oh no, why keep me private?” I’m like, red flag. But this guy was like, “I never want to go public anyway,” and I was like, I like that answer.

“Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength, and I like that because anyone who chooses to let everyone know their every move, like me, is weird.”

Shaughna starred in the sixth season of Love Island – the winter edition of the 2020 reality show – joining Callum Jones in the villa for the first time.

However, their brief relationship ended after Callum brought Molly Smith back from staying at Casa Amor.

Shaughna was later dumped from the villa when Luke Mabbott hooked up with Demi Jones instead of her.

Since her Love Island stint, Shaughna has amassed 1.4 million Instagram followers and earns her living as a social media influencer.
