Sharp launches two 27-inch docking hub desktop displays for your home office — watch out Dell and Asus

Sharp has announced two new 27-inch monitors that can automatically compete for the best monitors for working from home thanks to a number of handy features, including a docking hub.

The Sharp MultiSync EA272Q and Sharp MultiSync EA272U are both 27 inches, as mentioned, and have resolutions of 2560 x 1440 and 3840 x 2160 respectively, making the EA272U the more advanced of the two.

If one display isn’t enough, Sharp says users can use the DisplayPort out daisy-chain feature to have multiple displays side by side for maximum productivity. The small bezel design also makes for a smoother experience.

According to the company, both monitors feature a 90W USB Type-C port and built-in LAN connectivity, meaning they can be used as docking hubs for laptops and other devices via a single cable.

The EA272Q and EA272U stands – a key component of any office setup – are 150mm height adjustable. Low-blue light and flicker-free technology are also on board, and the monitors are available in black or white.

The most important thing for anyone looking for the best monitor, whether for working in the office or at home, is that you need to replace your existing monitor. In our tests, that company is Dell.

The Dell UltraSharp U2518D monitor is our top pick for working from home, thanks to its great ergonomics, USB hub, daisy-chaining capabilities, and 2K display. The Dell P3222QE 32” 4K Hub Monitor was also one of our top picks for productivity, with a beautiful 31.5” 4K display plus all the essentials.

We don’t have pricing details on Sharp’s EA272Q and EA272U yet, and both will be available through resellers rather than from Sharp itself as usual. The EA272U is expected to launch in October 2024, while the EA272Q is available now.

“Maximum screen space, minimum cable clutter – that’s the vision we had for the first two Sharp-branded desktop monitors,” says Alistair Round from Sharp. “The new desktop displays enhance productivity through frictionless workflows, support energy-efficient technology use and offer ergonomic comfort, while impressing with detailed visualization.”
