Sharon Osbourne shares her reaction to The Talk being canceled… three years after being fired from the daytime series amid racism claims: ‘It took longer than I expected’

Sharon Osbourne responded to The Talk being officially canceled after 15 seasons — three years after she was fired from the CBS daytime series in 2021 over racism claims.

The British-born star, 71 – who was recently spotted with daughter Aimee, 40, for the first time in seven months – opened up about the past incident during a new episode of The Osbournes Podcast which aired on Tuesday.

At one point, Sharon — as well as husband Ozzy Osbourne, daughter Kelly and son Jack — got candid about the “worst, dumbest, most stupid thing” they’ve said publicly.

Kelly reflected on her racism scandal during an appearance on The View in August 2015, calling the race altercation between Giuliana Rancic and Zendaya that same year by the Fashion Police one of her “biggest regrets.”

Jack then said: ‘Speaking of shows like The View, the f***ing Talk has been cancelled. That didn’t last long,” while his mother Sharon calmly replied, “It took longer than I thought.”

“It took longer than I thought,” Sharon said during a new episode of The Osbournes podcast that aired Tuesday; seen in February 2021

“It lasted a lot longer than I thought, even though they lost money on it because they lost advertising because they lost viewers… they kept it going.”

Both the TV personality and her son Jack said they were “sad” for the crew involved in the production.

‘The only good thing is that they have informed them well so that they have time to find something. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh yeah, you’re not coming back after the summer,'” she added.

Her husband, Ozzy, interjected into the conversation, saying her time on the series – which began in 2010 – had mostly been a “good memory.”

Sharon agreed, saying the “start has been great” with former co-stars like Julie Chen Moonves, creator Sara Gilbert and singer Eve. “We had a nice group of people.”

The star added that Gilbert “was funny” and also spoke about Aisha Tyler, recalling how “she would come up with the word of the day because her vocabulary was so big…”

In March 2021, Osbourne was removed from the CBS talk show after a heated argument with co-star Sheryl Underwood during an episode.

The pair argued about Sharon’s defense of her boyfriend Piers Morgan, and how he said he didn’t believe Meghan Markle’s claims during her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

“They lost money on it because the advertising went away because they lost viewers… they kept it going,” she added; seen with Elaine Welteroth (far left), Carrie Ann Inaba, Sheryl Underwood and Amanda Kloots

While speaking to Winfrey alongside husband Prince Harry, the actress accused the royal family of racism and how the situation had led her to suicidal thoughts.

Sharon had told Sheryl at the time, “Educate me, tell me if you heard him say racist things.”

“I very much feel like I’m going to be in the electric chair because I have a friend who a lot of people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist?” she had moved on.

The explosive feud between Osbourne and Underwood prompted The Talk to take a two-week hiatus to conduct an internal investigation, which subsequently led to Sharon being fired from the series.

She apologized for the incident, saying in a statement: “To anyone of color I offended and/or anyone who felt confused or let down by what I said, I am truly sorry.”

‘I panicked, felt blindsided, became defensive and let my fear and horror of being accused of racist behavior get the better of me.’

During an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in September last year, the TV personality opened up about her feelings about her abrupt departure from the show, revealing that the “anger” she had once felt was gone.

‘I did all my rants in the documentary my son made about me. But it’s gone, all the feelings of anger are long gone,” Sharon said.

‘You just have to move on, don’t you? I am not a victim. I’m not, you know, “Woe is me, everyone’s an asshole,” we just move on, right? Everyone at CBS is an asshole, but you just move on… you can’t keep looking back.”

About the situation itself, she said: ‘When it happened to me, I didn’t want that to be the last thing people knew about me. You know, you don’t want it.’

And during a recent appearance on the The Sage Steele Show, Osbourne revealed that she regrets apologizing to Sheryl Underwood after The Talk incident, per Deadline.

“I apologized to her, I didn’t want to because I felt like I didn’t do anything wrong,” Sharon explained.

“But my child said to me, ‘Just apologize to her. Maybe you’re wrong and she misread you or something, just in case, apologize.” And I did.’

‘I apologized to her. I called her. She didn’t answer my calls and lied and said I never apologized. I documented it all on my phone. You can never say that again because your ass is ruined,” the star continued.

Sage then asked Sharon if she had any regrets about apologizing to Underwood, to which Osbourne responded with, “Yes, I do. I’m like, fuck you. F**k you! She knew what I was. She had been to my house, she had gone to England with me.’

Last month in April, it was revealed that The Talk would be canceled after its 15th season – which airs later this year in December; Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O’Connell and Natalie Morales seen in March

“She always joked that she wanted to be an Osbourne and marry my son Jack,” she added.

After she was let go from The Talk, she said creator Sara Gilbert told her she needed to go to therapy.

Sharon admitted: ‘It helped a lot because, honestly, I didn’t want to carry that around with me and be a victim. And look what they did to me. It’s like, ‘F**k you and f**k corporation. I could give a f**k.'”
