Sharon Osbourne recalls being cancelled and blacklisted in America

And on Monday, Sharon Osbourne, 70, recalled being canceled and “blacklisted” in the United States after defending her friend, insisting: “I have never spoken hatefully.”

Appearing on This Morning, the TV personality told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she is living proof that you can be blacklisted in America, adding: ‘I got threats!’

When asked why she had returned to the UK, Sharon quipped: “I can’t get arrested in America.” it went wrong she came out vert, very bad.

“They say there are no blacklists in the United States, but I am living proof that there are. It’s not like I’m resentful or whatever. It’s just a fact of life, it happens, doesn’t it?

Sharon went on to discuss the fallout after she defended Piers Morgan following his comments on Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview.

She said: ‘I got threats and things like that… It’s like I can look in the mirror, and I know I can speak and I’m strong and I know that about myself.

“But I’ve never spoken hatefully and defended my friends and that’s what I was doing. I know who I am.’

In March 2021, Sharon and her former The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood got into a heated argument over comments by Piers Morgan, whom they accused of being racist in his public criticism of Meghan Markle.

Sharon claimed that the seemingly impromptu television moment was actually carefully orchestrated by a CBS show executive who wanted to create controversy by telling his co-hosts to ask him if people now thought he was racist.

As a result, Osbourne lost her job and was forced to hire 24-hour security and underwent months of ketamine therapy to deal with the trauma of subsequent death threats.

CBS said at the time: ‘Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave THE TALK. The events of the March 10 broadcast were upsetting to everyone involved, including the audience watching from home.

“As part of our review, we concluded that Sharon’s behavior towards her co-hosts during the March 10 episode did not align with our values ​​for a respectful workplace.

“We also did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or surprised any of the hosts.”

Speaking on This Morning about why she now enjoys working at TalkTV, Sharon explained: “At TalkTV I don’t have to [hide what I think] because everyone has different opinions.

And we all say what we feel respectfully. No hate speech or “I’m actually a secret part of this party.” People say what they feel and you have a space to feel it and it’s great.’

Elsewhere, Sharon explained in more detail why she decided to return to the UK, saying: “Age, life changes and everything changes so fast.”

“I’ve always been very English and I’ve never been a Brit going there who has a bi-littoral accent. It’s just not me. I am British and I belong here.
