Sharon Osbourne, 71, is forced to cancel public appearance because husband Ozzy, 75, ‘is unable to travel’ – as she thanks fans for their ‘constant support’

Sharon Osbourne was forced to cancel an upcoming public appearance at the Mad Monster Party in Phoenix because her husband Ozzy “couldn’t fly.”

The 71-year-old TV personality was expected to attend the conference in the United States in July with their children Jack Osbourne and Kelly Osbourne.

But Sharon has now said she and Ozzy, 75, will not be able to attend and has apologized to fans for the short notice.

In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday, Sharon thanked fans for their “constant support of Ozzy.”

She said: “Unfortunately, the Osbourne family has to cancel our upcoming performance at the Mad Monster Party in Phoenix as Ozzy is unable to travel at this time. However, Jack will be there and flying the Osbournes flag.

‘Anyone who purchased the Osbourne package will of course receive a full refund. We would like to thank you all for your constant support of Ozzy. It means so much to him, you have no idea.

“All I can do is apologize that we won’t be there and I apologize to the people we let down. So may God bless you all. Thank you very much.’

A synopsis for the event says: ‘It is a horror, sci-fi and fantasy-themed convention that brings together the world’s top genre celebrities and exhibitors with their fans to exchange stories, attend informative panels, buy autographs and fun merchandise and visit with old friends – and meet new, like-minded monsters.”

In January, Sharon revealed that Ozzy will perform two final concerts in Birmingham before packing it up for good.

Ozzy was forced to withdraw from future live performances last year after undergoing surgery following a fall amid his battle with Parkinson’s disease.

During her Cut The Crap tour in London, Sharon confirmed Ozzy’s return to the stage.

She said: ‘He’s not going on tour anymore, but we’re planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye because he’s like, “I’ve never said goodbye to my fans before and I want to say goodbye in a proper way say goodbye”.’

She added: ‘We’ll do it at Aston Villa, where Ozzy is from. His voice is still absolutely perfect. And all the time he is free, he still takes his singing lessons, so his voice is perfect. And he can joke, yes.

“He’s got all these melodies in his head. Even if you don’t like his music, you can’t love Ozzy, he just draws you in.”

In January 2020, the star, also known as the Prince of Darkness, revealed that he has Parkinson’s in an emotional interview with his wife Sharon.

The then 71-year-old spoke to Good Morning America to reveal that he could no longer hide his health problems and that he is taking a “whole host” of medications to treat his nerve pain.

It started, he said, when he fell in 2019 and had to undergo surgery. Afterwards, he began to experience nerve pain and doctors had difficulty determining whether the fall, the surgery or his condition were the cause of his condition.

He insisted he was ‘far from’ his deathbed – as had been misreported – and said he wanted to ‘confess’ his condition for the sake of his fans.

“It’s been a huge challenge for us,” he said of the past year. ‘I had to have an operation on my neck, which destroyed all my nerves. I found out I have a mild case of…’ he said before looking at his wife to finish his sentence.

Sharon added: ‘It’s Parkin 2, a form of Parkinson’s. There are so many different types of Parkinson’s.’

In June 2022, Ozzy underwent spinal surgery, with Sharon providing an update to fans shortly after.

“Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support prior to Ozzy’s surgery! Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him,” the TV personality concluded.

Later that same year, the Crazy Train singer hopped on stage to perform during an NFL gig in September 2022.
