Shaquille O’Neal has posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed, sparking concern among fans for the ‘NBA on TNT’ co-host.

It is unclear why O’Neal is in the hospital. TNT spokespersons did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

The 51-year-old posted the photo of himself on Twitter along with the caption: “Always watching @TurnerSportsEJ and @Candace_Parker I miss you all.”

The Twitter handles belong to her TNT co-hosts Ernie Johnson and Candace Parker.

Parker responded online, writing: “Love you big buddy.”

Former NBA stars Steve Smith and Roy Hibbert shared their concern for O’Neal on Twitter.

Are you a nice big guy? Hibert asked.

“Get well, big buddy,” Smith added.

The 7-foot-1 O’Neal is not known to be battling any health issues and has remained healthy for most of his 19-year NBA career.

His mentor and father figure, Philip Arthur Harrison, died of a heart attack in 2013, but the US Army sergeant was O’Neal’s stepfather and not related by blood.

O’Neal was ill in early March, though it’s not clear why he was absent.

“We were calling the hospital every day to check on you,” co-host Charles Barkley joked on the TNT study show.
