Shannon Sharpe revealed the truth behind his streaming sex tape that went live on Instagram earlier Wednesday, in which he and a woman can be heard making intimate noises for about a minute.
Sharpe admitted he wasn’t hacked and the video wasn’t a joke. The longtime NFL tight end confirmed he had sex during the video.
The sports commentator said he accidentally pressed the buttons to go live, despite not being technically savvy.
Sharpe also admitted that he did not stop the live stream. Someone from his team did.
“I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons. People count on Shannon to be professional, even when I’m behind closed doors,” Sharpe said as part of a special edition of “Nightcap” with Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

“I’m very disappointed in myself, not in the act. There are millions and billions of people of consenting age who participate in activities.”
Sharpe said he cried after his Instagram Live broadcast.
Oddly enough, the second ad for the start of the special edition of ‘Nightcap’ was Sharpe’s endorsement of Ro Sparks, a pill that claims to be a ‘long-lasting treatment in a new sublingual form that gets into your bloodstream faster, so you can be more spontaneous’
Sharpe said he will leave his phone in the car for any future intimate moments.
The former Denver Bronco also indicated he would like to use a flip phone again.
Johnson said he had “73 missed calls” from people trying to contact him through the sex livestream.
“You guys like to make fun of my situation,” Sharpe said.
The woman can be heard moaning throughout the video, while at other points she appears to say Shannon’s name. Sharpe declined to identify the woman during the livestream.
However, the camera was pointed at the ground for most of the clip. Earlier on Wednesday, the former NFL star said he had been hacked.
“Please be advised my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning. My team and I are working hard to resolve this — UNC,” Sharpe posted on his Instagram Story before deleting his post.
A screenshot from Instagram Live shows that at one point, more than 6,500 people were watching the video simultaneously.
Sharpe said he had a rare FaceTime session with Deion Sanders to discuss what went wrong on his livestream.
One of Sharpe’s fans mocked him on his livestream, saying, “Happy Wednesday, Uncle!”
Sharpe has already released sexually charged merchandise about Wednesday’s accident.
