Shannon Noll and Cosima De Vito have responded to rumors they were involved in a feud following their appearance on Australian Idol.
The singers rose to fame during the talent show’s very first series in 2003, reaching the final three alongside Guy Sebastian, who was eventually crowned the winner.
Cosima came third after being forced to leave the competition due to throat lumps that threatened to damage her voice, leaving fans devastated.
At the time, viewers speculated whether Cosima received more votes than Shannon despite leaving due to her health, sparking wild rumors of a rift between them.
However, more than two decades later, the pair have firmly denied there was ever any bad blood between them as they reunited for a duet on Shannon’s new album.

Shannon admitted he felt “bad” for Cosima following her “rough” and sudden departure from Australian Idol, but insisted they have always been friends despite the drama.
Speaking about the criticism Shannon received for making the final after her departure, Cosima admitted: ‘I felt really bad for Shannon, I felt really guilty.
“We never talked about it, and we were always friends, and it was clear that we wanted the best for each other. There were never any hard feelings in any way.”
The pair reunited on Shannon’s new album That’s What I’m Talking About, after secretly recording a new version of Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean’s country hit Don’t You Wanna Stay.
Shannon said of the new song, “I thought what better way to mend the bridges for her than to get her on a single and back on the radio. She was tickled to be a part of it and she blew her vocals out of the water. .’
Cosima again described singing with Shannon as ‘special’ as she admitted 20 years have passed since Australian Idol dropped when they reunited.
After Cosima had to withdraw due to throat lumps, they were hit with feud rumors, which they have firmly denied after reuniting to sing together on Shannon’s new album.
