Shannen Doherty’s Charmed costar Alyssa Milano leads stars paying tribute after her death at 53 following cancer battle: ‘The world is less without her’
Alyssa Milano joined other celebrities in paying tribute to her Charmed co-star Shannen Elizabeth on Sunday, July 14, after she passed away at the age of 53.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star had been battling breast cancer, which she later said had spread to her brain.
Alyssa played Phoebe Halliwell on the long-running WB series Charmed, about three witch sisters.
She admitted in a statement that their relationship was “difficult” but also said that “the world is less without her.”
“It’s no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at the core, I was someone I deeply respected and had awe for,” Milano said via Entertainment weekly.

“RIP Shannen Doherty. I met her during the Full House days. She was a sweetheart and had a beautiful smile. Today I also think of the women in my life who have all passed away from cancer – my mother, my sister, Sharon, and my niece, Shannon, who were all so strong and so beautiful.”
Academy Award winner Viola Davis responded to People’s Instagram post about Shannen’s death.
“Oh man! So sad. Rest in peace,” the How To Get Away With Murder star wrote.
