Emotional Shannen Doherty doubles down on claims Alyssa Milano got her axed from Charmed and declares ‘we told our truths’ – after former co-star denied she got her fired

Emotional Shannen Doherty has doubled down on claims that Alyssa Milano fired her from Charmed in 2001 – after the actress denied the allegations.

The 52-year-old star, who is battling stage four cancer, was appearing at the MegaCon audience in Orlando on Sunday with Charmed co-stars Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan when she read a statement in a video obtained by TMZ.

She said: ‘Holly and I weren’t mean on the podcast – my podcast, ‘Let’s Be Clear.’ In fact, we went in and removed anything we thought would cause more drama.

‘We simply told the truth, because the truth really matters. But we wanted to try to save you, the fans, from heartbreak as much as possible.

‘At this point in my life with my health diagnosis – I’m sorry if I’m starting to cry – battling horrific diseases every day of my life, it’s also incredibly important to me that the truth is actually told, as opposed to story that others have put it before me.

“We told it together, we told our truths and we stand by our truths,” Doherty added about the claims she and Combs made on her podcast. “There is no revisionist history taking place in the truth that I know we have told. … There is no delay, there is no mediator for months. I remember the facts as if I were still living in them.’

Combs also took to Instagram on Monday with a lengthy post saying she was “disappointed” in Milano’s denials.

She wrote, “I feel the need to defend myself after the many sustained attacks that have followed since Alyssa took the stage (at MegaCon) and basically called Shannen and I liars.

“Suffice it to say, I’m a little shocked and disappointed, especially by the things she posted the next day, while simultaneously texting me to the contrary. Unfortunately, that’s no longer a (sic) surprise.

This comes after Milano broke her silence on reports that she had Doherty fired from Charmed in 2001.

The 51-year-old actress addressed the drama while speaking to her fans during a panel earlier this week in Orlando, Florida, after Holly Marie Combs, 50, confirmed the rumor late last year.

Milano — who is currently embroiled in a new controversy after setting up a GoFundMe for her son’s baseball team and asking her fans for donations — has notably neither confirmed nor denied the claims, according to a report from Deadline.

She later shared a transcript of the panel and wrote a lengthy caption, clarifying that she did not have her co-star cut from the show.

Previously, Doherty, 52, accused Milano of having “a weird rift” on the set of the fantasy drama series.

Combs then confirmed the long-standing rumor that Milano was responsible for Doherty’s departure from the show.

Weeks after the clip went viral, Milano spoke out about the subject, saying she was “sad” about it while remaining vague about the validity of the claims.

“I knew this was going to come up somehow, and I want to be very thoughtful about how I respond to this, and I’ll just say I’m sad,” she said at MegaCon Orlando 2024.

“I don’t think it’s really me being sad about me or my life, or how it does or doesn’t affect my life,” she said.

She said she was “very sad” that the “toxicity” of their show continued even decades later.

“I’m saddest for the fans,” she continued. “I’m most saddened that a show that meant so much to so many people has been tainted by a toxicity that continues to this day, almost a quarter century later.”

“I’m sad that people can’t move past it,” she added. “I’m sad that we can’t all celebrate the success of a show that meant so much to all of us.”

She then talked about dealing with her trauma, adding that she now understands that “hurting people hurts people” and that she would rather be someone who heals.

“I’ve worked super hard in my life for the last 25 years to heal all my trauma, and that’s not just all the trauma I experienced while shooting, but all my trauma.”

She added, “I’ve been working really hard to heal the pieces because I understand that hurting people hurt people and my intention is to be a healed person who helps people heal.”

Her statement comes shortly after her former co-stars dished on the drama on the set of Charmed at Doherty’s Let’s be clear podcast.

Combs revealed that Milano issued an ultimatum, which was the reason for Doherty’s departure from the show after three seasons.

She recalled a producer telling her, “We were told (by Alyssa) that it’s her or (Shannen) and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile work environment.”

Milano ultimately denied the claims on her Instagram, saying her former co-stars are participating in “revisionist history.”

She also insisted, “I had no power to get anyone fired.”

“I don’t know of any other show that has had the success that Charmed had and where the cast still speaks poorly of the experience a quarter century later,” she wrote.

“For me, this was 15 movies and 13 TV shows ago,” she continued. “This was 11 years before my 15-year marriage and 13 years before I had my first child. This was so long ago that retelling these stories by anyone is merely revisionist history.”

She then noted that the evidence of what happened was “documented.”

‘However, I would like to add with absolute certainty: everything was documented. There was a professional mediator,” she explained, before adding that she was told that “Holly and Shannen would not participate in any mediation.”

She said there was also a “producer/babysitter on set” who was “brought in to investigate all claims.”

“It was then recommended by this mediator, after gathering testimonials from cast AND crew, what changes should be made if the show were to go ahead,” she added.

“The studio, Aaron Spelling and the network have made the decision to protect the international hit Charmed,” she concluded. ‘I didn’t have the power to get anyone fired. When Shannen left, we had five more successful seasons and I am forever grateful.”
