The 57-year-old country singer is currently in the Big Apple promoting her album Queen Of Me, which is set to be released on February 3.
For her emotional appearance on the TODAY show, Shania wore a voluminous bubblegum pink wig that stood out against her bold black trench coat.

Instead of her flashy pink wig, Shania went back to wearing her honey-hued locks that looked freshly styled.
During her emotional interview on the TODAY show with host Hoda Kotb, Shania opened up about the horrific child sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her stepfather.

The musical artist first claimed that her stepfather Jerry Twain had mistreated her in 2018.
Shania did not know her biological father. Her stepfather Jerry and her mother Sharon died in a car accident in 1987.
On Thursday, Shania opened up about the lasting trauma of the abuse and how being fondled by her stepfather as a child made her feel ashamed of her body.
She explained that she chose nude photography for her latest album cover as a way to deal with the horrible things her stepfather put her through as a child.
“It’s really about saying that I was abused as a child,” she said. “My stepfather fondled me all the way up and made me go around shirtless and I was already growing up. This awful, horrible desire to escape being in my own skin.
She continued: “It’s time to start loving myself in my own skin and really embrace that and not be ashamed or ashamed of it.” This is what I am.
‘Love who you are. I am my own royalty. I am my boss and I am responsible for the decisions I make, for what I say, for what I do. It’s a statement of self-confidence that I’ve become more of in recent years.
The five-time Grammy winner then went on to reflect on the idea of finding self-confidence at this stage of her life and how “it’s more essential than ever.”
For his new album, he did a photo shoot where he decided to be ‘full monty’.
I did a whole shoot as part of the album art where I’m completely naked and it was really scary, but it was like, you know, I don’t really love my body.
‘I don’t love looking in the mirror with the lights on or looking in the mirror at all. So I said listen, I’m going to face that fear.
Shania explained that she wanted to “put fashion aside” so that she could be completely authentic.
The conversation then shifted to talking about how Shania grew up in a violent home in her documentary Not Just a Girl, which was released in July 2022.
The man! I feel like a woman! The singer grew up in a home where there was not always food or electricity. She lost her parents when she was 20 and then had to become a mother figure to her siblings.
The beauty spoke about how those hardships shaped her into who she is today, describing it as “like a double-edged sword.”
She said: ‘There are elements of that, of going through all those hardships that make you stronger. What you survive makes you stronger, but on the other hand you develop insecurities.’
In 2018, the singer opened up about being sexually abused, saying, “Uh huh, uh huh.” I will not go into details about it. I don’t mind saying it, because I think it’s important that people understand that you can survive these things.
The singer revealed that the abuse began when she was around 10 years old.
She explained: ‘I feel like sexual abuse goes hand in hand with physical and psychological abuse when it’s someone you know. I learned to block it.
“Abusers need to manipulate you, either sooner or later, and what I told myself is, ‘Okay, there’s something wrong with this person and that person isn’t right.'”
