Shania made a very dramatic entrance alongside drag queens and dancers, before quickly running into problems.
Shocked fans rushed to X, formerly Twitter, to blast the behind-the-scenes crew, feeling nothing but sympathy for the moment Shania was ruined.
They wrote: ‘Utterly horrible sound mix on Shania!’: ‘The sound at Glastonbury was terrible on BBC, Cyndi yesterday and now Shania? Maybe the BBC just hates gay icons’: ‘Sound is pretty rubbish for Shania’: ‘Looks like Shania knows there’s something wrong with the sound’.

However, while some went crazy for the surprising historical musical moment, some more cynical viewers have suggested that Chris Martin may have mimed the words to his songs rather than singing them.

A second said: ‘There’s quite a bit of chatter and impersonation going on in here… There’s a lot of songs playing in the background.’
A third commented: ‘People who said Taylor Swift’s band lip-synced or used backing tracks would be very surprised if they saw Coldplay’s input list.’
Another who has come under scrutiny from eagle-eyed fans is Camila Cabello, who put on a spirited performance in her set on Saturday.

However, she set the record straight after her set and insisted that mimicking isn’t something she ever does.
