The man! I feel like a woman! hitmaker has been through a lot in her almost sixty years on this planet. Speaking to Elizabeth Day on the How to Fail podcast, she said: ‘I have a lot of scars’
She said she grew up poor in Canada in the past because her parents made little money.
There was often not enough food in the kitchen.
And the crooner added that her mother and stepfather’s marriage was stormy at times, and that she witnessed violence between them from a young age.
And when life gets hard, she can put her pain into words.
She shared, “I will document my feelings, I will write things down, they are very raw, they are very real, they are very in the moment, and I live them. I like to endure my suffering.”
Some notes will turn into lyrics, but she likes to change them to make them more upbeat.
She explained: “They are now a reflection of what I have been through.
“But they’re on the other side. They are the healed experience with a scar.”
The You’re Still the One hitmaker admits that one day she can feel good about herself and the next she can’t.
‘I have a lot of scars from cooking. I have a lot of scars from working in the bush with sharp tools. I have a lot of emotional scars. “I had a tough childhood and then my throat surgery,” she added.
“Over time I have realized that all these experiences have really made me who I am today and that I wear them well,” she added; seen on May 10 in Las Vegas
She said: “All my life I have been a person who made me feel at ease. I think it’s just a process. I experience it every day.’
Shania also admitted that for years she was too timid to show off her body in revealing outfits.
She insisted, “I’m fine now.
‘But it has been a process for me. The man! I feel like a woman!’ video was the very first time I ever performed with legs at all.’
