Shakira seemed to have a spring in her step on Tuesday, but the responsible shoes raised more than one eyebrow as she ventured into Rome.
The 45-year-old Colombian singer is currently enjoying a winter holiday in the picturesque Italian capital with her children Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, her two children with ex-husband Gerard Piqué.
But it was his questionable footwear that caught the eye when they stopped for lunch at the legendary local restaurant Alfredo Alla Scrofa, cited as the birthplace of the traditional Italian dish Fettuccine.

At £715 a pair, Shakira’s Bottega Veneta platform sandals were certainly worth the price of several signature dishes at the popular Roman restaurant, but unlike the food, they might not be to everyone’s taste.
The singer paired her chunky footwear with vibrant green socks, while white joggers, matching top, and a colorful orange jacket completed the ensemble.
With a baseball cap and white Balenciaga bag as her only notable accessories, Shakira made sure to stand out during a tour of the city.

The family vacation comes just weeks after Shakira and former FC Barcelona soccer player Gerard met in court to ratify their agreement to separate custody of the children.
The exes announced their separation in June after 11 years together, and last month said they had reached a suitable arrangement for their children Sasha, 7, and Milan, 9, after a 12-hour conversation.

Last month, Shakira and Gerard confirmed that they had signed a child custody agreement to avoid a court war.
Gerard, who retired from soccer this year, is said to have given his blessing to his former partner’s move to Miami in the New Year with their two children.
Shakira’s desire to move to the city where she used to live and part of her family is understood to have been the main sticking point in the couple’s earlier failure to settle out of court.
