Shakira returns to Barcelona with her sons just two months after starting a new life in Miami following her split from footballer Gerard Pique
Shakira and her children return to Barcelona on Sunday after giving up their lives in Spain for Miami two months ago.
The singer, 46, will land in the Catalan capital with her sons Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, who she shares with footballer ex Gerard Pique so the kids can spend time at their dad’s house.
La Vangardia reports that Shakira, who has called the Spanish city home for more than a decade, will return and spend a few days with her family.
After that, she is expected to visit her elderly father William Mebarak in Colombia, who is reportedly due to undergo surgery in their hometown of Barranquilla.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer originally put off moving to Miami because her father fell ill.

She finally moved in April after her messy split with Pique after dating for 11 years and two kids together.
Shakira’s return reportedly comes as her ex-football beau planned to travel to visit their children in Florida, per their custody agreement.
However, she feared the former top Barcelona player would take his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, 24, on the trip.
The custody agreement, which was finalized last November, gives Pique the chance to spend time with them during their children’s school holidays.
Shakira and her sons are expected to fly back to the United States after the holidays.
The couple had been together since 2011, and the pair had met last year while filming the music video for her World Cup song Waka Waka.
Piqué’s team happened to win the World Cup that year, where his girlfriend-to-be performed at the final game.

Although the two dated back in 2010, the relationship between the two megastars wouldn’t officially get off the ground until early 2011.
In the fall of 2012, Shakira would use her Instagram platform to announce to fans that she was pregnant with the soccer star’s son.
Just two years after the birth of son Milan, the couple entered the second round and revealed that they would be expecting their second child, Sasha, who was born in 2015.
The couple publicly admitted that they had no plans to get married, but that never stopped them from living a family life.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer previously praised her boyfriend for his parenting style, claiming that he is her “biggest support” when it comes to raising their children.
She said, “He’s down to earth and very practical in solving problems. When I get stressed about how to organize things or juggle everything, he helps put it all in perspective.
And he is my biggest support. We’re both very hands-on parents, so it never feels like anyone is carrying the whole load alone. But he’s probably letting them eat a little more chocolate than I’d like.’
