Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been breaking records left and right after becoming the highest-grossing tour ever, as well as the first to gross over $1 billion.
But Shakira’s upcoming world tour has already managed to break one of Swift’s Eras Tour records.
The 47-year-old Colombian singer – who was embroiled in a controversy last year over allegedly unpaid Spanish taxes – set a new record after managing to become the first woman to sell out five consecutive stadium shows at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. per Marca.
That beats the 34-year-old hitmaker’s record of four consecutive shows at the stadium, formerly known as Foro Sol, on her most recent tour.
The impressive performance may also be an indication of the high demand for tickets for Shakira’s upcoming world tour, which forced her to postpone her North American leg to move shows from arenas to larger stadiums.

‘Mexico honey, five dates at the Estadio BNP. We broke the record,” Shakira reportedly wrote on social media to celebrate the milestone.
Shakira had previously announced only four shows at the stadium, but she added the fifth record-breaking sold-out show in response to extraordinary fan demand.
According to Estadio BNP SegurosOn its website, the venue – the second largest stadium in Mexico City – has a capacity of 65,000 people for concert events.
“The demand for tickets and more shows has reached the point that our tour now needs stadiums in the US and more dates so I can see as many of you as possible,” Shakira announced via her Instagram Stories on Friday via Billboard. “As a result, we are elevating my North American run from arenas to stadiums and moving the dates to May 2025, immediately following my Latin American tour.”
The move initially disappointed some fans who didn’t want to wait to see the popular artist, but now many more fans will have the opportunity to attend her concerts.
Her good fortune is in stark contrast to other established artists – including Jennifer Lopez and The Black Keys – who have been forced to cancel or downgrade their tours after failing to attract the same fan interest as in previous years
Last week, the Latin American star unveiled the music video for her single Soltera, and the clip has already been viewed 26 million times as of Monday.
Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is named after the album of the same name, which she released in March.

The LP – whose title translates to Women No Longer Cry – was a hit around the world, and especially in the US, where it topped both the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and the Top Latin Albums chart.
The album also reached an impressive No. 13 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and has been certified 7x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for more than 420,000 album-equivalent units.
Shakira’s 2025 world tour kicks off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 11, followed by stops in Peru, her home country of Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.
After a break between March and May, the tour will resume on May 13 in Charlotte, North Carolina, followed by dates in the Northeast, South and West.
