Shakira attacks the new girlfriend of her ex Gerard Piqué, Clara Chia, in a sincere interview

Shakira has attacked the new girlfriend of her ex Gerard Piqué, Clara Chia, in a new candid interview and reveals how she has “strengthened” after their separation.

The 47-year-old hitmaker admitted she “believed in the story that a woman needs a man to be complete” but has now realized she can be “self-sufficient”.

Former Barcelona player Gerard, 36, split from Shakira in June 2022 after 11 years together and went Instagram official with Clara, 23, last month.

Shakira reportedly realized her ex had been unfaithful when she found out he had eaten a jar of strawberry jam while she was out.

Addressing their separation, she told journalist Enrique Acevedo of the Mexican channel Canal Estrellas: “There is a place in hell reserved for women who do not support other women.”

Shakira went on to reveal that she is now “more confident” in herself and has become a “lioness” to her two children Sasha, seven, and Milan, ten.

She detailed: ‘I bought that story, that a woman needed a man to complete herself. I also had this dream of a family where the children would have a mom and a dad under the same roof.

‘You don’t achieve all your dreams in life but life has a way of making it up to you and I think life certainly has for me with the two wonderful children I have who shower me with love every day.

“Emotionally I have always been quite dependent on men, I have fallen in love with love, and I think I have been able to understand that story from another perspective and today I am enough alone.”

“When a woman has to face the battles of life, she comes out stronger,” added the singer.

“Now paradoxically I feel complete because I depend on myself and I have two children who depend on me and that means I have to be stronger than a lioness.

‘That strength comes from experiencing a painful loss, from accepting it, from tolerating frustration, from understanding that life doesn’t always give us what we want.

‘There are dreams that are broken and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and rebuild yourself, and also be an example for my children.’

Shakira concluded: ‘Now I have more confidence in myself. I didn’t know that I could end up being strong. I always thought it was more fragile. It is true that I have a bit of everything but you have to have faith.’

The couple spared their two children a damaging legal battle by confirming last November that they had signed a child custody agreement after sheltered negotiations and by signing the agreement in a Barcelona court the following month.

Veteran family lawyer Ramón Tamborero, who represented the former soccer player in his negotiations with the Colombian artist, insisted: “They have made a great effort for the good of their children, who were not the protagonists. Both have shown great intelligence.

Last month, Gerard and Clara made their relationship official on Instagram, with the athlete reaching out to his new love, 23, in a happy selfie, which quickly racked up a million likes.

She explained: “I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective and today I’m enough on my own” (pictured together in 2019)

Drama! It was reported that Shakira found out about Gerard’s cheating through a jar of strawberry jam she found in the fridge, which she referenced in her new video.

The decision to take their romance to her social media comes after Shakira took a swipe at Clara on her new diss song which has since topped Spotify’s global charts.

Shakira reportedly realized that her ex-boyfriend had been unfaithful when she discovered that he had eaten a jar of strawberry jam while she was out.

The hitmaker then referenced strawberry jam in a music video for her single Te Felicito in April, which featured a clip of collaborator Rauw Alejandro’s head inside an open fridge.

According ShowNews TodayShakira knew that Gerard and his two children, Sasha and Milan, did not like strawberry jam, so she suspected that someone else had stayed at home when she found the jar.
