Shailene Woodley hints at why she and NFL star Aaron Rodgers broke up in cryptic interview – two years after pair calls off engagement

Shailene Woodley appeared to discuss her split from New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers during an interview on Monday.

The 32-year-old The Fault in Our Stars actress, who is set to star in the new series Three Women, opened up about her ‘broken heart’ to Rush two years after the couple broke off their engagement.

She admitted that she “falls in love over and over again with someone who is unavailable,” which leads to cycles of feeling “healed and broken.”[n] again.’

‘I love easy and I care about easy, but I don’t love lightly, and I don’t care lightly. It’s really taken me a long time to understand that it’s not my place to fix or heal or do anything about it [a relationship] “Except to protect the deep care and love I feel for the world and for my people,” she told the outlet.

The Secret Life of an American Teenager star added: “Ultimately, it helped me to walk away without the need to understand why certain things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to.”

And the 5ft 8in beauty made it clear she has “no interest” in a partner who “disrespects” or “harms” her.

She shared, “I was a person who…kept giving and giving. And now…I respectfully say, ‘Thank you so much for that information. Have a beautiful life. I wish you the best.'”

Shailene and the 40-year-old athlete first started dating in 2020 and got engaged in February 2021.

Amid their whirlwind romance, the Emmy nominee spoke glowingly about Jimmy Fallon that she didn’t expect she would ever end up with someone who “threw balls for a living.”

Fans were devastated when they called off their engagement in February 2022.

And last January, she admitted their split was the “darkest, hardest time of [her] life while you talk to Net-A-Porter.

“My personal life was shit, so it was like a big pain bell for eight months. … I was so grateful that I could at least go to work, cry, and process my emotions through my character,” she said at the time.

After they split, rumors swirled that the 6-foot-1 football star had moved on with model Mallory Edens.

However, Shailene has not yet openly communicated about a new romance, instead focusing on herself and her career.

Later in her interview on Monday, she spoke openly about her desire to become a mother soon, explaining that it was “long overdue.”

“I want to be a mother,” the Divergent star said, explaining that she “has no expectations from life” and feels motherhood “is long overdue for her.”

She spoke enthusiastically about her dreams for the future: “I want to cook for someone every night and travel the world with them, have pillow talk and celebrate their joy, purpose and destiny.”

But instead, she plans to “wake up every day and… say out loud, ‘I’m so excited for the magic and the miracles that are going to happen.’”
