Shahs of Sunset Actor Mike Shouhed Makes Deal with Prosecutors in Domestic Violence Case… Months After His Arrest for Physical altercation with fiancé Paulina Ben-Cohen

  • Shouhed, 43, was arrested in March for a physical altercation with a woman, later reportedly his fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen
  • He struck a deal with prosecutors dropping domestic violence, violence and unlawful attempts to deter a witness
  • The former reality star will have to go on a distraction program to close his case – meaning he wouldn’t have to plead guilty if he took the course
  • The program includes anger management courses, parenting courses, and gun safety courses along with performing community service
  • He also must not possess or possess any firearms during the two-year diversion program
  • His Bravo series Shahs of Sunset was canceled in April 2022 – just weeks after Shouhed’s arrest, after nine seasons
  • Sources claimed the cancellation had nothing to do with the arrest, adding that it was becoming too expensive to make and that it was just “running its course”

Shouhed is also facing several gun charges, so another stipulation of the program is that he is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm for the two-year duration of the program.

Shouhed’s attorney George Mgdesyan told TMZ that prosecutors chose not to bring the case forward due to lack of evidence.

“In this case, the DA didn’t bring this case up because they saw the facts like I did. If this case went to court, the prosecutor would not be able to prove it,” Mgdesyan said.

“All of my client’s weapons were legal, in his keyboard-locked bedroom. No one was allowed to enter the master bedroom,” the lawyer added.

The lawyer admitted, “It was unfortunate that my client had one gun registered before the laws changed, and it was a technical violation.”

‘However, the Public Prosecution Service has accused him of possession of weapons. In light of the offer, he was not convicted and will be given a discharge that is in his best interest as the allegations of domestic violence were dismissed,” Mgdesyan added.

Weapons: “All of my client’s weapons were legal, in his bedroom which was locked with a keyboard. No one was allowed in the bedroom,” the lawyer added

“If the allegations of domestic violence were not dismissed, we would go to trial. It was a no-brainer,’ he concluded.

Shouhed and Ben-Cohen had been engaged since 2021 and were seen heading to Cabo San Lucas in April 2021, just weeks after Shouhed’s arrest.

Shouhed is due to appear in court again in January 2023 to present the judge with a report on his progress.
