A BET-nominated rapper has expressed her condolences to the two victims of a shooting while she was filming a music video in Florida.

Rapper Sexyy Red, 25, was filming a music video with fellow artist Sukihana at Oakland Park Flea Market in Florida on Thursday evening when gunshots were heard nearby.

Florida police officers swarmed the area after the shots were fired and found two shooting victims, one of whom died, according to local media.

Police spent hours investigating the scene of the shooting, with many speculating that the incident and the rappers’ video shoot were directly related.

Local news channel WPLG reported that Broward County Sheriff’s Office officers took two people into custody, although authorities have not yet made any official comment on the incident.

Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry, denied having anything to do with the shooting.

She said on her Instagram Story: “I send my condolences to the family of the man who lost his life and pray for the person who was injured.

“But I have to take into account the rumors that it happened during my video shoot because it’s not true at all.

“For the record, it happened at a gas station across the street from my video set.

“Florida Highway Patrol and Broward County Sheriff have confirmed that the shooting did not occur on my set.

“Thanks to my production team (for) getting all the paperwork in order and working with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to hire off duty (sic) people to make sure everyone was safe.

‘We finished the shoot at a different location and everyone from our set went home safely. Period of time.

‘I just try to work hard, make good music and connect with my fans. Please don’t try to twist the stories and put this on ab****.’

Wherry previously posted a video of Florida police officers escorting her car shortly after the shooting, captioning it, “I got all the police escorts going crazy.”

At the time, she was reportedly filming the music video for her upcoming song “Shake Ya Dreadz” with Sukihana, whose real name is Destiny Lanette Henderson.

The rumored couple has now sparked speculation again by posing for more cozy photos during the It’s A Blur tour stop in Inglewood, Los Angeles.

Sexyy Red called Drake “her man” in the caption of the images, sending her fans into overdrive in the comments section.

In the snap, Sexyy Red – whose real name is Janae Nierah Wherry – showed off her peachy bum in a pair of skin-tight hot pants.
