Sex O’Clock: Survey reveals the most popular day and time for couples to be intimate – with surprising results
It is often seen as a taboo subject.
But a new study finally maps the sex lives of thousands of people around the world.
Researchers from Pour Moi have revealed which day and time of the week couples have sex most often.
Saturday is the most popular day for intimacy, with 10:09 p.m. being the sexiest time of the week.
βIt seems that weekend evenings are the most relaxing and people like to spend time with their partner,β says Marina Nicoli, marketing manager at Pour Moi.

For the study, Pour Moi surveyed 2,000 adults from the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States and Canada who were in a relationship, actively dating or sexually active.
Participants were asked on what specific days and times they usually have sex and how often they have sex.
The results showed that Saturday is clearly the day people prefer to be intimate, with 43 percent of respondents saying it is their favorite day.
This was followed by Friday (22 percent), Sunday (10 percent), Thursday (six percent), Wednesday (five percent), Tuesday (four percent) and Monday (two percent).
More than a third of respondents said they prefer to have sex between 10pm and midnight, with 80 percent agreeing that the ‘sweet spot’ is specifically 10:09pm.
As for the specific time, the late hours appeared to be the most common.
More than a third of respondents said they prefer to have sex between 10pm and midnight, with 80 percent saying the sweet spot is 10:09pm specifically.
The second most popular time slot was between 8pm and 10pm (27 percent).
In contrast, the early morning hours were the least sexy time of the week, with only four percent of respondents choosing to have sex between 6am and 8am.
“Anytime before 6pm is generally considered the least sexual time of day. The least sexy time of the week is Monday at 1:02pm,” Pour Moi explains.
“So if you enjoy a bedroom lunch break to start the week, you’re one of the most unique couples in the world.”
The study also revealed how often people have sex.
Nearly half (48 percent) of respondents reported having sex once a week, while 19 percent reported having sex twice a week.
Only one percent of participants reported being sexually active on a daily basis.
‘WWhen adults were asked how often they would like to have sex, it turned out that for most people, twice a week is the ideal amount of sex,’ Pour Moi added.
‘Interestingly, women between the ages of 25 and 45 have the greatest need for intimacy, indicating that four times a week would be ideal, compared to twice a week for men in the same age group.’
