Sex And The City star Kristin Davis has opened up about how she has finally reached a place of body acceptance and the age of 58.
The actress, best known for her role as Charlotte in the iconic series, discussed how her attitude to her body and exercise has evolved over the years and she now loves the skin she is in.
Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: ‘I’ve finally come to accept and love my body shape – so instead of worrying about not getting skinny, I just do things I enjoy like yoga and pilates .’
Kristin also discussed her part in the conversation surrounding the ageism that exists in Hollywood after speaking out on the topic.
The star revealed that it was important for her to speak out, but she doesn’t believe the issue is specific to Hollywood, and instead affects women everywhere.

“Women in particular live in a truly ageist society and it’s important that we only have procedures done when we want to, and not because we feel pressured,” Kristin explains.
The actress says this in an interview with Living high up in June that when she started her career, it was “literally a place of skinny women with blonde hair and blue eyes.”
Playing Charlotte in Sex and the City reinforced her negative self-image and she experienced a lot of body shaming.
She recalled reading comments like “ “Kristin’s hips are bigger than her shoulders,” and I say, “But they’re not! And then I think: what difference does it make? What if it is?’ But I mean, it’s business as usual.”
Giving her advice to women in their 40s and 50s, she said: ‘It’s OK that you don’t look 30 anymore – that’s not the intention!’
The And Just Like That star also opened up about motherhood and how she believes waiting until her mid-40s to have a child was the right decision.
Kristin revealed that she wasn’t in the right place to start a family before then and that she doesn’t regret waiting.
The star adopted both of her children, Gemma who she adopted in 2011, and Wilson, who she adopted in 2018.

The mother of two admitted it was difficult being away from her children during the week of filming And Just Like That, but Charlotte had been part of her life for almost 25 years so she had to do it.
She said that while she would have said no to any other job, she had to make the sacrifice of being away from her children, but for this show she made an exception.
During filming, she flew back and forth between New York and California every weekend to be back with her children.
Earlier this year, Kristin revealed that marriage was never something that interested her.
Unlike her famous, wedding-obsessed character Charlotte, the raven-haired beauty has never tied the knot – and she doesn’t want to.
She revealed on Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin’s podcast Best Friend Energy that marriage just wasn’t her ‘thing’.
‘I am not married. I’ve never been married,” the And Just Like That… star explained. “It was never a goal, let’s say,” she added.
However, she has had some famous relationships. The star has romances with Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and Aaron Sorkin.
