Tragedy after a seven-week-old baby is found dead in a home as a murder investigation is launched

A murder investigation has been launched after a baby boy was found dead in a home.

Emergency services were called to a house on Stanley Street in St Mary’s in western Sydney at about 4.15am on Saturday.

A seven week old baby boy was not found at the address.

Paramedics performed CPR on the newborn before he was taken to Children’s Hospital in Westmead

Paramedics performed CPR on the newborn before he was taken to Children’s Hospital in Westmead. He could not be brought back to life.

A crime scene has been established and members of the homicide unit are helping the local police determine the circumstances of the baby’s death.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
