Seven-month pregnant Arkansas mom is pounced on by attempted kidnapper who broke into her car and waited for her before trying to rip her daughter out of her arms in Walmart parking lot

A bald man who broke into a heavily pregnant woman’s car before jumping her and trying to grab her two-year-old daughter has been arrested by police.

Timothy Caudle, 58, is accused of attempting to kidnap the toddler from her mother Mikayla Ferguson’s car Monday evening while it was parked outside a Walmart Superstore in Sherwood, Arkansas.

Ferguson, who is seven months pregnant, returned with her groceries and tied up her daughter before realizing a stranger was lurking under a pile of clothes in the passenger seat.

“All I saw was a hand and a bald man,” said Ferguson, who was also with her mother at the time THV11. ‘I tried to get her out. I started screaming for help. My mother started screaming for help.”

Ferguson said she also came into the Walmart to try to raise the alarm with the employees, but they took out their phones to film her ordeal instead of helping.

“There’s a group of kids at Walmart who work there that I ran to, screaming and crying, to call 911,” Ferguson told THV11.

‘They just looked at me. They looked at me like I was stupid, took out their phones and started filming me.”

When someone finally called police, Ferguson said her mother and a male bystander held the doors closed so the man couldn’t escape before police arrived.

Footage of the incident shows Caudle appearing to hide under a blanket or some clothing in the front seat.

Ferguson said her car was locked when she left for her grocery store, although it is unclear how Caudle got in.

Sherwood police confirmed that they received the 911 call that day around 7:07 p.m. and found Caudle, of Jacksonville, in Ferguson’s vehicle.

He was pictured sitting on the ground in the parking lot next to Ferguson’s vehicle, with his hands handcuffed behind his back.

Caudle, a bald white man with a skinhead, gray beard and a small tattoo on his neck, appeared expressionless in his police booking photo.

Police Chief Jeff L. Hagar said Caudle initially lied about his name.

Police charged him with burglary, false imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a minor, assault, public intoxication and obstructing government operations.

This incident remains under investigation and Hagar said additional charges are possible.

Caudle appeared in court Tuesday and is being held on $35,000 bond at the Pulaski County Jail.
