At least seven people were killed and 18 injured when terrorists opened fire on a passenger bus in Pakistan's restive northwest on Saturday, police said.

The bus was traveling from Gilgit Baltistan's Ghizer district to Islamabad when terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, an official said.

The bus caught fire after fatal firing by the terrorists, police said.

The dead and injured included both soldiers and civilians.

The attackers managed to escape from the scene after the attack.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, police said.
