Call of Duty servers are down! Thousands of console and PC players are having trouble logging into Modern Warfare II and Warzone

According to player reports, the servers for Call of Duty (COD) went down on Tuesday afternoon.
More than 5,000 players of the popular first-person shooter have reported the outage to DownDetector.com. The first reports came in around 4:30 p.m.
The outage is believed to affect all multiplayer and online co-op COD titles, including Warzone and Modern Warfare II. It applies to both consoles and PC players.
It’s a less favorable sign for Microsoft, which is reportedly preparing to close a deal today to acquire COD publisher Activision.
Activision has not acknowledged the issue on its social media channels. DailyMail.com has reached out for comment.

According to Down Detector, about 90 percent of players who experience an outage have server connection issues.
Every day, an estimated one to three million people play Warzone 2.0, the franchise’s popular battle royale game.
Modern Warfare II, last year’s remake of the 2009 hit of the same name, racked up 250,000 players daily.
Older series titles also still have thriving communities and established player bases that could be affected by the outage.
The series has sold over 400 million copies since its launch 20 years ago, making it the most successful video game franchise developed in the US.
