Serial paedophile known as ‘Caveman’ is caught preying on five-year-old boys in Sydney after being released from prison again – as the sick reason for his children’s TV ban is revealed

A serial pedophile has been caught filming five-year-old boys and admitting he had “sexualised dreams” about his vile past offenses while high on drugs.

Warren Graeme Hayter – who calls himself 'The Caveman' – has also been caught watching children's TV, as the morbid reason why he was banned from doing so was revealed.

Ny Breaking Australia can exclusively reveal that Hayter, one of Australia's most dangerous pedophiles who was jailed for molesting disabled children, has offended again after being released from prison again to live under 'strict supervision' in the community .

In his latest set of offenses he admitted smoking cannabis and reliving his previous crimes.

These include convictions dating back to 1984 for sexually assaulting boys as young as seven who were disabled or from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in Queensland, NSW and South Australia.

Hayter has been returned to prison 14 times since 2009 after breaching his release conditions with 29 offences.

Court documents reveal the 60-year-old has been diagnosed with 'pedophilic disorder' and 'hebephilic disorder', meaning he has a sexual interest in children aged 11 to 14.

His jail record shows he “requires 24-hour supervision and proof of escape from jail.”

Police arrested Hayter as he was housed in temporary crisis accommodation in Sydney's south-west during his final stint in the community.

Hayter lived in September and October in a two-storey brick flat 240 meters from a childcare center and an early learning centre.

An officer overseeing Hayter's Extended Supervision Order (ESO) found four deleted photos and a coded message on his phone.

One of the two photos 'showed a close-up of two pre-pubescent boys aged approximately 5-7 years old… walking in the company of two female adults in The Strand Arcade' between September 1 and October 10 this year.

When the officer searched Hayter's phone further, he found messages he had sent to a man using the encrypted service RCS who was planning a meeting, saying: 'Just call me… it will be good to to say hello to you. We are (sic) we will meet'.

When the officer returned to Hayter's apartment on October 19, he watched through the bedroom window as Hayter turned off the TV. Hayter told the officer he had been having “sexualized dreams related to his offending.”

Three days later, police arrested Hayter at the flat and as he reached for his hearing aid charger next to his bed, he found a small plastic bag containing a gram of cannabis.

When asked how much he smoked, Hayter said “a lot” and mentioned that the TV show he had been watching was “Flushed.”

Flushed is an Australian children's game show featuring children aged 10 to 14. Watching it violated one of the many conditions of Hayter's ESO.

Hayter has been banned from watching children's television programs since prison staff found material in his prison cell while he was attending a sex offender treatment program.

Hayter's list included names, physical descriptions and the schools of children participating in a show.

Hayter's history of serious sexual offenses dates back to 1984 and involves “entrenched behavior in seeking young boys for sex.”

He is known to lurk in public areas where boys play, breach exclusion zones with his satellite tracking ankle bracelet and evade surveillance.

While taking prescription anti-libidinal medication, Hayter once told his supervisors that he was going to buy cough medicine at a pharmacy and instead diverted to a local children's park.

One prison psychiatrist has warned that Hayter's chance of a fairly rapid relapse without antilibidinal medication was 'very, very high', and another, Dr Stephen Allnut, concluded that it was not feasible to treat Hayter safely in the community 'without almost constant supervision'. .

When he reoffended in 2019, he was banned from playgrounds.

The five-year ESO imposed on him in 2009 has been suspended for fourteen separate periods, while he was returned to prison for offenses including drug use, associating with other convicted sex offenders and accessing pornographic material.

He has not committed child abuse since 2004, when he fondled the genitals of a 12-year-old boy in a Sydney park.

The victim was alone when Hayter approached him and began praising the boy's football skills and his appearance, offering him $20.

Over the past twenty years, he has committed more than twenty crimes against boys between the ages of seven and fifteen, all of whom were strangers and often in public places.

His ESO supervisors have previously noted that he has offended with increasing levels of sophistication and grooming.

Hayter was convicted of four offenses under his ESO, including taking and possessing images of children and possessing a prohibited drug. He was sentenced to two years in prison but will be released in October next year.
