According to a recent report in his native Spain, Sergio Ramos would rather continue his career in Europe than join a Major League Soccer team.
The defender is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his contract – as is Lionel Messi, who has since joined Inter Miami.
But for Ramos, 37, he has no plans to move to the US despite recently vacationing there.
Spanish publication Marca says the former Real Madrid defender “has a desire to play for a top European club that is in the Champions League.”
Ramos has won the league four times – all with Real Madrid – and looks set to take a shot at claiming a fifth title.

However, most of the offers associated with Ramos come from outside his home continent.
In MLS, Messi’s Miami and current MLS champions LAFC have both been linked with a move from the defender – a 2010 World Cup winner.
The Saudi league is also an option. Most teams in the Saudi Pro League offer lucrative contracts to bring in star players from Europe and Ramos would no doubt charge a huge fee if he went there.
In MLS, the free agent signing deadline is September 13, while the window for Saudi Arabia ends on September 20.
At one point, reports in Spain said Ramos was just a step away from signing with Inter Miami, but speculation got no further than that stage.
Earlier this year, Ramos was vacationing in New York with his glamorous wife Pilar Rubio.
They visited The Met and the Museum of Modern Art, and she described her trip to the Big Apple as a dream come true.
She wrote on Instagram, “Visited the Met museum with my love Sergio Ramos.
“One of the plans we’ve wanted to do for a long time. Unforgettable experiences: Karl Lagerfield ‘A line of beauty’, Vincent Van Gogh ‘Starry Night’… quite a dream come true’.
