Sergio Ramos has completed his return to Sevilla after turning down a major move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.

It was previously reported that Ramos had an offer on the table from the Saudi Al-Ittihad and several Turkish clubs.

However, the Spaniard has turned down the chance to earn more money and reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema in Saudi Arabia.

It has now been confirmed that Ramos has completed a return to Sevilla, 18 years after leaving La Liga.

Unveiling his return, the Spanish team wrote on Twitter: “Sergio Ramos is back home.”

The video posted alongside his announcement shows the trophies Ramos has won since leaving Sevilla.

This includes the World Cup with Spain as he became captain of the national team during his time at Real Madrid.

Transfer insiders Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Ramos will earn “nearly 15 times less” than he would have if he had chosen to move to Saudi Arabia.

The defender will be hopeful of bringing the good times back to Sevilla after La Liga struggled in recent seasons.

When Ramos arrived in Seville to finalize the move, he revealed the reason for rejecting a move to Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “I’m looking forward to going home.

“There was no point in going anywhere else without stopping by here.

“It was a debt to my father, to my grandfather and to Seville, with many things that have meant a lot and I think now was the time.”
