Serbian goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic is said to have had an argument with a fan in a bar a few days before his team’s decisive match at the 2024 European Championship.

The Serbs were eliminated from the tournament on Tuesday after a 0-0 draw against Denmark, leaving them bottom of the Group C table.

Milinkovic-Savic was the tournament’s No. 2 goalkeeper and did not feature in any of their three matches.

And it appears the Torino stopper may not have been as focused as his teammates.

Serbian newspaper Telegraph claim Milinkovic-Savic was spotted in a bar in Munich on a day off ahead of Tuesday’s crucial match with Denmark.

The report states that a fan saw him drinking and confronted him about what he was doing with such an important match coming up.

It is alleged Milinkovic-Savic swore at the man before throwing a punch, causing bar staff to intervene and separate them.

The bar owner told Telegraf: ‘Vanja came to our bar, but the security at the entrance did not recognize him and they did not want to let him in because he was wearing the national team’s shorts, which made him angry and there was a fight.

‘I quickly intervened, I took his hand and told him to come with me, but he refused. Everything happened in the garden of the bar.

‘I didn’t hear what they said to him and what they said to each other. I’m glad we resolved everything in the end.’
