Sen. Rick Scott issues with his own travel advisory telling ‘socialists’ to keep out of Florida
Florida Senator Rick Scott has warned “socialists and communists” in his own travel advisory not to come to the state in response to the NAACP deeming it “hostile” to African Americans.
The tongue-in-cheek warning read, “Florida is openly hostile to socialists, communists, and those who enable them.
“Before you travel to Florida, understand that the State of Florida is devaluing and marginalizing the contributions and challenges faced by socialists and others working in the Biden administration.
“Let me be clear: any attempt to spread the oppression and poverty that socialism always brings will be rejected by the people of Florida.

Scott’s advice joked that socialists would face “mockery and laughter” in North Florida, but it could be “much more dangerous” in the South.
Travelers should be aware that attempts to spread socialism in North Florida will fail and be met with laughter and ridicule.
“In much of Central and South Florida, however, the situation is much more dangerous for socialists because they can meet people from Cuba, Venezuela and other parts of Central and South America and the Caribbean who have direct knowledge of and experience the horrors. of socialism.’
His advice on Tuesday came after NAACP President Leon W. Russell told black Americans to “analyze” whether they would be “safe” in the state — despite the fact that he lives there and has no plans to leave.
Russell, 73, told MSBNC’s Joy Reid that Americans should reconsider traveling to the state, where he and others believe Governor DeSantis is pushing “white supremacy” by trying to remove Critical Race Theory from schools.
He has lived in Florida most of his adult life and retired in 2012 after decades of public service with the Office of Human Rights for Pinellas County in Clearwater.

NAACP Co-Chair and Board Member Karen B. Towns also enjoys vacationing in Clearwater.
Despite their connections to the Sunshine State, they joined the organization to warn other African Americans not to travel there.
However, in an interview with The Grio, he said he had no intention of leaving the state.
The NAACP warning sparked ridicule among black Republicans, including Florida Rep. Byron Donald’s.
“I don’t even know what the NAACP is talking about. This is silly, and it’s stupid. It’s political. It does not make any sense.

“We have to be focused on making sure that people actually have a chance to achieve something, which Florida actually does and thrives much better than other states, let’s say New York or California or Washington State,” he said during a performance on Fox and Friends on Monday.
“We need to get past this stuff. We cannot use race to weaponize our politics and our media.
“It’s disgusting and it has to stop,” he said.

“The only hostility I feel is inflation hitting my wallet, because inflation is hostile.
“If the price of food goes up, the price of gas goes up, the fact that fentanyl is coming into every community because of Joe Biden… maybe the NAACP should focus on that. Because that’s hostile.’
