On Friday, the Anger Management star attended a Chanel-sponsored luncheon and brought her service dog Scout to the gathering at The Greenwich Hotel in New York City.
The event was part of the festival’s Through Her Lens: The Women’s Filmmaker Program.
She told me during lunch Page six that her dog gives her signals when it is time to take her medication.
‘He nibbles on my nose a bit, because I can get a bit spastic. He reminds me. I get really distracted so I need him,” Blair told the outlet.
Blair has owned Scout for almost three years, as the service dog initially helped her with balance and mobility during her MS diagnosis.
Blair’s neurologist selected the Labrador retriever Scout, who was then trained to help the actress during her health problems.
Blair announced her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2018, which has affected her ability to speak and use her left leg. She detailed her journey in the 2021 documentary Introducing, Selma Blair.

“It took a long time to recover, but now I’m finally walking really well,” Blair told the newspaper. ‘I wear heels without a cane.
‘Everyone’s MS is different and I’ve always been OK with heels because my foot bends so much. I’m having trouble turning it off. Heels are actually easy because you just stand in a fixed foot position. So it’s always been good.’
