Selling Sunset’s Chelsea Lazkani divorce from husband Jeff explained – as ‘affair’ rocks season 8

Chelsea Lazkani unfortunately finds herself at the center of the explosive new season of the hit Netflix series Selling Sunset, as her husband’s alleged infidelity turns out to be one of the show’s main storylines.

Fans got a taste of what was to come when a teaser trailer for season eight dropped last month, showing Chelsea, 31, breaking down in tears after a woman named Amanda Lynn — who was recently accused of posting racist tweets — told Bre Tiesi she “heard something about Chelsea’s husband.”

In the new episodes, it was revealed that a friend of Amanda’s had seen Jeff Lazkani “making out” with a mystery woman around Christmas. Bre, 33, decided to tell Chelsea the news in an emotional scene filmed at Los Angeles restaurant ADKT for episode five.

While the new season doesn’t reveal much about Chelsea and Jeff’s actual split, Selling Sunset fans already knew they were separated, as the British-Nigerian realtor filed for divorce earlier this year.

On March 27, it was reported that Chelsea had filed, as TMZ alleged that legal documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the official reason for their split.

Chelsea and Jeff, who met on Tinder in 2015, have a three-year-old daughter, Melia, and a five-year-old son, Maddox, together. The TV star reportedly filed for “joint physical and legal custody” of their children.

Chelsea also filed for spousal support from the 41-year-old California native, but she did not end Jeff’s ability to file for alimony himself.

TMZ pointed out that there was no mention of a prenuptial agreement in her filing, but stated, “Chelsea says the division of assets should be determined by the court.”

Chelsea did not provide a date for the split and quickly removed nearly all traces of Jeff from her Instagram page, where she currently has 702,000 followers.

Just a week after Chelsea filed for divorce, Jeff responded by accusing her of being “physically aggressive.” His attorney said he also wanted a divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.

In a written statement, Jeff, managing partner at Icon Media Direct, accused the reality star of being “physically aggressive,” claiming it happened before and after she filed for divorce after seven years of marriage.

Jeff also claimed that Chelsea “punched him in the face” in an aggressive manner, breaking his glasses and leaving him with a small cut on his face.

He also claimed that, for the sake of their two children, they should not live in their five-bedroom Manhattan Beach home, which Jeff said he is the primary owner of.

Jeff further alleged that Chelsea, who he claimed was not on the mortgage, “installed a lock on the master bedroom to isolate herself, remotely monitored his access to the property and recorded him there.”

The property was purchased in 2018 for $2.9 million and Jeff asked for “exclusive use and possession” of the home, claiming Chelsea is “taunting” him and “recording him in an attempt to catch him overreacting to her.”

He also accused Chelsea of exhibiting “suspicious behavior” and claimed that some of his “personal belongings” had gone missing or been taken from their home after Chelsea filed for divorce.

He said the missing items included a scarf given to him by a deceased matriarch of his family, his father’s hat and a spare key to his car.

He claimed Chelsea confessed to taking his Rolex after he asked her where it was. He also said she ‘sneaked around the property and tried to get into’ his room ‘when she thought he wasn’t home.’

He then asked Chelsea to remove her belongings from the property within 48 hours and that she not stay there for more than two hours.

He also wanted a “neutral party” to be present to help them sort out the issues they might disagree on.

It’s unclear whether Chelsea and Jeff’s divorce has been finalized, but season eight ended with her taking off her wedding ring and saying on camera, “I think this has to stop.

“The foundation I built in Manhattan Beach is something I thought I would continue to build for years to come. I would have fought for my marriage to the end,” she added.

The mother of two was also spotted on the phone with her co-star Emma after viewing a home in Studio City, admitting, “I don’t really know what the next few months, let alone the next few years, are going to look like for me.

“But there’s something about living in this house that just screams for a new beginning for me. I don’t close my mind to it anymore like I used to, I just embrace it,” Chelsea added, suggesting she might be ready to move on.

Seasons 1 through 8 of Selling Sunset are now streaming on Netflix.
